No, CEF does not have preferred locations. Applicants can decide where they would like to focus their intervention in Somalia. The concept note should clearly specify and justify the proposed geographic coverage, whether one district, one federal member state, or several geographic areas.

The concept note is restricted to a maximum of eight slides. Applicants can decide how to use those eight slides, including using more than one slide for particular sections where needed.

This opportunity is intended to operate at a Somalia-wide level, while allowing applicants to propose context-specific geographic approaches.

Yes, however CEF does not prescribe specific thematic areas or sectors under this funding opportunity. Applicants are encouraged to propose context-driven and locally grounded areas of focus based on their understanding of the civic, social, economic, environmental and political dynamics in the country. Applicants are expected to identify the most relevant challenges and define how their proposed approach will contribute to strengthening civic collaboration, collective voice, and collective action.

Yes, CEF accepts concept notes from organizations like yours assuming you meet minimum eligibility criteria. CEF does not prescribe how to structure partnerships with informal organizations, however, this call is specifically intended to support grassroots organizations, community groups and civic networks.
